10 Things I’m Excited about RIGHT NOW

July 11, 2011

1. My upcoming vacation. Although I’m not thrilled to be starting it in Disneyland, the people watching can’t be beat. The outfit choices, fanny packs and fighting families entertain me. I also really like churros and funnel cake.

Yes I can!

2. So You Think You Can Dance. I love that show. Every week I watch and judge the contestants as if I’m on the panel. Sometimes, I get up and do my own hip-hop, contemporary or Irish routines. Though I’m not trained in any of these styles (and the show doesn’t even feature Irish dancing),  my roommate enjoys these spastic outbursts which can only mean I’m talented enough to try out.

3. The revival of book club. I haven’t read a book since our last choice in…May? I can feel myself getting stupider.

4. Professional seminars/workshops. I’ve taken several recently including a very informative session with Donna Fedor. That lady motivates AND offers great career advice.

5. Clean sheets. I washed them last night. They smell good.

6. Breakfast. I just ate cottage cheese with fresh peaches and plums. Delicious and nutritious!

YUM

7. Cinnabon. I’ve been thinking about it a lot the last few minutes, and I really want one. Plus, since I ate such a healthful breakfast, I don’t see why I shouldn’t have a treat.

8. Mail. According to Gmail, I can expect my next movie from Netflix today! Even though I know exactly which movie I will receive, opening that red envelope just thrills me. Then I’ll let it sit on the entertainment center for like two weeks before watching it.

9. Depositing checks. Someone needs to pay her Visa bill. Badly.

Neato!

10.  Tassi. This could easily be a RAWC&A topic except that it’s awesome! You put it over your head and use it like a headband to wash your face. Wait…there’s more. The bottom of the band is thicker, so you can tuck all of your hair into it. So much fun! I wear it around during the face process (washing, toning, moisturizing, seruming, etc.) and to put on make-up. It’s like my own head kangaroo pouch. That’s really weird, but you know what I mean.

…about our sabbatical

July 11, 2011

Hi Readers,

I have a few very important announcements. First off, Beth is taking a short break from our blog. She and her husband recently purchased their first home and are busy moving in, renovating and attacking the jungle that they call their front yard. She’s super busy and promises to return with fresh TITs. Second, during Beth’s absence we’ve invited a few guest bloggers to write for us. Posts will continue to go up on Mondays and Thursdays, though I can’t say who will author them. 🙂 Third, I’ve been feeling really blah lately, so I apologize for the lack of new material. I hope you’ll forgive me. Lastly, thanks to everyone who voted in our first Reader’s Choice poll. We’ll get to work on what YOU want quick-style!

May 2011 Fan of the Month

June 23, 2011

Beth G. and I met about four years ago at our former company. She showed me the ropes, offered helpful advice and steered me away from office weirdos (and rest assured, there were A LOT of those). As one of the most genuinely nice people in the world, she never lost her patience with me and always showed interest in my personal and professional happiness. She was a supportive mentor and became a great friend.

Beth G. not to be confused with my co-blogger Beth R. What can I say? I like Beths.

The REAL reason why Beth is cooler than you (and me) is she changed her life’s path for the better. Beth combined her passions for nature (she is the only person I’ve ever met who literally smushes, sniffs, and assesses the texture of a flower before announcing it’s Latin name – and this was just a random flower in a parking lot) and justice to become a Park Ranger. It took a lot of time, practice (shooting didn’t come naturally) and hard work, but she made her dream come true. And that’s rad.

Yeah, she climbs rocks for fun. No big deal.

It’s exciting to have such inspiring fans. Thanks for reading Beth…and get a job in CA already! 🙂

RAWC&A: The Cuchini

June 6, 2011

Please note: I’m not trying to be vulgar. Just stating the facts.

It’s that time again. I’ve found another ridiculous product for ladies: The Cuchini.

Can you guess where this is going?

The company’s website explains, “The Cuchini is a comfortable, light-weight material that adheres to any undergarment (panties, bikini, sports attire, etc).  It smoothes the ridges of a woman’s mons pubis area providing a smooth and camouflaged appearance. This eliminates what is commonly known as ‘Camel Toe.'”

To conceal the vaginette.

The site goes on, “Camel Toe might be hot… if you are a Guy!! But who wants to be the one sporting it? Some secrets are meant to be kept.” Hold on. Do guys really think camel toe is hot? If so, WHY?!? It’s so unappealing. And for any woman who has tried on too tight pants (i.e. pants that by some act of God with the help of Crisco you’ve managed to put on), it’s extremely uncomfortable. Clothes are supposed to hide anatomy not publicize it.

Next, what is “the secret meant to be kept?” Half of the population has vaginas and the other half wants to be around them. This is not top secret government intelligence.

If you’re still unconvinced you need to hide your “mons pubis area” (because Cuchini keeps it classy), they reason, “As the landing strip and Brazilian wax have become prominent in today’s world, there is no bush for the cush.” Too far, Cuchini, too far.

Like the makers of Cuchini, I’ve also come up with a simple solution to eliminate camel toe. Wear properly fitted clothing. The end.
